Character NAME: Lucien Lachance
Canon & MEDIUM: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. video game.
Canon PULL-POINT: During the quest Following a Lead, immediately after instructing his Silencer to go hunt down the traitor to the Dark Brotherhood.
Character AGE: Mid-thirties.
Character ABILITIES: Lucien is a stealthy//silent assassin type-- this is most likely a good thing, given his high rank in an assassins' guild. He's adept with a blade, whether it be a dagger or a sword, and in addition to being naturally stealthy, he is able to go semi-invisible at will. Specifically, he has a spell called Chameleon, which functions slightly differently than true Invisibility; while Chameleon is generally only a percentage as effective (specifically, he is able to turn himself ~50% transparent), it isn't immediately dispelled upon taking any action more dramatic than walking, like, say, opening doors and stabbing whoever's inside. Lucien's own form of the spell seems to be indefinite (so long as he wishes) as well, which is pretty cool.

Related to opening doors: Lucien is skilled with a lockpick, and actually has an uncanny ability to get into places he absolutely shouldn't be able to, given his specific role in recruitment combined with his preference of approaching potential Brotherhood members in their sleep. (It's just a bit disconcerting to wake up with someone looming over you in a house with a lock no one is supposed to be able to pick.) As the resident recruiter for the Brotherhood, he's also fairly decent at talking to people, though his tendency to wax poetic about death tends to be disconcerting to those of a... less bloodthirsty nature.

Additionally, while it's not directly mentioned much in the game, Lucien has a particular fondness of poisoned food, specifically apples. The unique feature of these apples is that they're even better than the one in Snow White; any living being who takes a bite of them will die instantly. (whoa.) As it seems he makes these himself-- the only respawning cache of apples available is in his personal fort, and he gifts one to the player; additionally, the only vendor of them is also in the Brotherhood, at the Cheydinhal sanctuary, and it wouldn't be far-fetched to say he also gets them from Lucien personally (as he watches over that particular Sanctuary, and Fort Farragut is in the wilds very near Cheydinhal)-- it implies that he has a pretty strong knowledge of poisons and herbs in general. While the materials needed to recreate a super-ridiculous-instadeath-apple may not be necessarily available to him here, he'd certainly be able to whip up less incredibly overpowered (but still unpleasant) concoctions. (Most likely his knowledge is also limited to poisons, however. What does an assassin who's never been caught need to know of healing?)

tl;dr: sneaky, can lower his opacity at will, knows how to stab people, can open doors and get into places pretty easily, knows where you sleep 8)~

Character HISTORY: There is little stated of Lucien's life before the Dark Brotherhood, as he isn't a man to really speak of himself. What we know is that at some point, he spent an unspecified amount of time in Skyrim when he was younger, during which people definitely died as a direct result of his actions (his blade); whether he was working for the Brotherhood or not at that point is unclear.

» EXSILIUM INFORMATION

Chosen WEAPON: Blade of Woe. (While it was initially gifted to the player character of Oblivion, it has somehow conveniently found its way back into Lucien's possession, okay.) A curved dagger that's absolutely pristine; there's little else special about it, save for the fact that it can damage incorporeal creatures despite being a plain blade. Canonically when fully enchanted it has life-draining, magic/stamina-damaging and demoralizing capabilities (of varying degrees), though.
Chosen SKILLSET: Fighter, please; assassin and all that. Lucien's also a fair hand at diplomacy, but probably works best there with backup.
